Well it's been a while

So since we have moved into our new house, we have been super busy and crazy and haven't even thought about our blog until recently. So I decided to finally write an update.

May- We closed on our house on the 6th and started moving right away. The next day, Tawny flew in to help, but we had already moved the majority of our stuff out of the apartment and into our house (well at least into the garage). We started painting the kitchen and front room right away. At first the yellow on the walls was a little too yellow, but the second coat toned it down and the intensity matches that of the watery blue on the other walls. I really liked how it turned out and it is really nice to not have white walls...at least downstairs. After getting most things inside, we jumped on the landscape. We had a contractor come and do our cement, the first Monday we were in our house. We then went to work on sprinklers and everything...had to get the tree and plants in the ground that had lived on our apartment's balcony. We just kept to it and had the front yard done by the time the rest of my family had to leave (oh yeah, they came a week after my mom).

Then memorial day, Eric had another day off to do landscape, so with the help of a guy from his work we did the rest of the sod. It has been doing pretty well, but the summer has been hot so it does need a little more water. We stayed up really late one night planting the rest of the plants, so after this point the only thing left to finish was the retaining wall for our tree. We also ended up buying an air conditioner which has made our lives so much more pleasant.

June- We worked on finishing our landscape. We enjoyed our swimming pool and Tawny came back out to celebrate Eric's birthday. Things started to get better straightened out inside, and we had an open house with Eric's birthday to celebrate. It was nice to start working on organizing the inside of our house. We finished our garage floor with a green epoxy and started to park both cars in the garage.

July- We went to Utah for a very brief trip for Eric's Grandma's funeral. We had Scott and Shamae and their kids out for a visit. We had fun swimming, at Estes Park, playing at the Railroad park, and going to Denver for the Children's Museum and the Aquarium. They also went to the zoo and the Butterfly Pavilion. We started working on organizing our basement.

August- We had Gaylene and Spencer out to visit. We went to the zoo, played 9 holes of golf, went up to Estes Park, played games, and enjoyed the swimming pool. We also went and picked up a piano which is sitting in our garage, forcing Eric to park outside until we re-finish it. It is a fun project, but a little daunting. Eric started to work part time and is taking 17 credits at school. Our lives have been turned upside down a little with school and all the changes that it is bringing, but it is exciting and fun.

We feel very busy, a little crazy, but mostly in love and have enjoyed our summer in our new house.

Wow March went fast

Well Eric wants to talk about March Madness cuz he likes his brackets and that he is winning, but his teams keep losing so Stephanie is not alone at the bottom of our group "Loving It" we just guess. He likes following it. But really Obama is gonna beat us all his bracket is amazing its crazy.

So our house is going up super fast! Today almost everything is drywalled! So crazy it looks like a real house now. We have all of our siding and almost all the roof. It's just flying. I so excited for March 31 install all the cabinets. Everything is just flying its crazy and stressful and there is so much going on.

We have basically figured out all of our landscape. We are going to put in a weeping cherry tree and a cement path and a raised flowerbed with pavers. We are going to have lots of pretty grass and mulch and no rocks cause spiders live in them. Its going to be super pretty and Eric will have fun choosing plants and all.

Umm a title

So we don't have kids to write about so we just write about our house...

It's super pretty and exciting! We have cement! Yay! It's so pretty! I just wanna go live in our cement lined hole!

So Wednesday we meet with the construction manager for our first meeting. We went over our plot layout and he gave us the 5 major dates for our house to be on schedule. The earliest close date is May 4th, so we are excited and it is so soon it is crazy. It's hard to believe that everything is happening now because we have been waiting for so long.

Monday they are supposed to start framing so soon we will have a structure above the dirt, but right now it's just our house in the middle of the street....(see Eric's video to really see our boards in the middle of the road)

Anyways Eric keeps being sick and Stephanie really wants him to be better so we can be fishies. Other than that life is full of work, work, work.

Oh yeah! Eric got a promotion! He is the B Tech Mechanic and shop foreman and lead tire guy and alignment guy and whatever his boss wants him to be guy. He is supposed to finish up his CSU ap and then study about A4 and A5 (suspension and brakes) so he can be ASE certified. (That means Automotive service excellence (the blue gear thingy (aka good mechanic just for those who don't know)))

Wellll that's all folks, over and out.

Already the end of January! Time goes fast!

It's crazy how fast time flies! It's almost February already! This month has been a busy one. On the 15th Eric and Stephanie were sealed for time and all eternity in the Denver Temple. Gaylene, Spencer, Scott, Clay, Tawny, and Sharlit all came for the sealing. It was a super special day full of happiness at being a forever family!

Sunday was Stephanie's birthday and we had yummy birthday cake from Baskin Robbins. Eric's gift to Stephanie is to teach her how to be a fishy. We got passes to go swimming at the high school pool 5 mins away from our place and have gone once so far. It is fun and we look forward to getting to be better swimmers.

We are still waiting for our house to get started......still lots of dirt on our lot and no hole in the ground.....it is so hard to be patient.

Today Eric is sick :( . He is sleeping lots which is good, but just no feel good. I am hoping that I don't get sick too and that his head clears up so he doesn't feel so miserable.
